A football player has filed a complaint against actor Suriya at Shastri Nagar police station in Chennai, alleging that the latter slapped him in full public view at Adyar on Monday evening.
In his complaint, 20-year-old U Premkumar, who is said to be a first division football player, said that when he and his friend were going on a two-wheeler, they hit a car going in front of them when it stopped suddenly.
Following this, a woman came out from the car and was involved in an argument with them. At that time, Suriya, who was passing by, stopped his car, stepped out of it, and started scolding them, he said, adding that he also slapped him for ‘fighting with a woman’.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s manager has issued a clarification, in which he said the two youngsters in a bike had hit an old lady near Adyar.
“Those two youth had been harassing that old lady. Suriya who had been passing by that way had stopped his car and had intervened and had questioned those youngsters on harassimg the old lady. Suriya had immediately informed the police about this incident and had left his assistant at the incident spot and left away. Taking Suriya’s absence as an advantage these two youths had filed a police complaint against Suriya,” he added.
