Double delight for ‘Kashmora’ team

Karthi and Sri Divya, the hero and heroine of ‘Kashmora’ respectively, are sharing their birthday yesterday(May 26). To mark this, the first look poster of the film has been released.

Nayanthara is the other heroine of the movie, which has Vivek in a key role. It is being directed by Gokul of ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ fame.

As part of his birthday celebrations, Karthi has joined Twitter. From today, he will regularly interact with fans in the popular social media platform, sources said.

Besides ‘Kashmora’, tipped to be a super natural thriller, Karthi is also part of his mentor Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film. In the movie, the ‘Biriyani’ actor will be seen as a pilot. Shooting is expected to commence soon.

Vijay up to date with ‘Kabali’

Superstar Rajinikanth‘s upcoming film ‘Kabali‘ is bringing out his fans in celebrities in a never before way. Only recently, the entire Kollywood celebrated the teaser of ‘Kabali’ and heaped laurels on Rajini.

Now we hear from sources that Vijay is constantly updating himself with ‘Kabali’ news and he is getting them directly from the mouth of Kalaipuli S Thanu, the producer of the much awaited movies.

“Sir, kalakuringa sir thalaivar vachu” was the oft-repeated line of Vijay, when he interacts with Thanu about ‘Kabali’. It is to be noted that it was Thanu who produced Vijay’s recent release ‘Theri’.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kabali’ has Radhika Apte, Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Dhansikaa and Kishore in key roles. Music is by Santhosh Narayanan. The film is slated to hit the screens in July

Is that Ajith’s eye on Murugadoss’ Twitter page?

The wallpaper of the Twitter page of director A R Murugadoss has caused flutter in the industry and among fans, as it features an eye, which is said to be that of Ajith.

This has added strength to claims that the filmmaker’s next movie would be with the ‘thala’. Buzz is that it would be bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.

It may be recalled that Murugadoss made his debut in Kollywood with Ajith-starrer ‘Dheena’ in the early 2000s. From then on, there is no looking back for the director, who is now sought after in Bollywood too.

Meanwhile, Ajith is all set to start his next movie with director Siruthai Siva soon. After completing it, he will join hands with Murugadoss for a ‘big budget movie’, it is learnt.

Aadhi, Nikki together again

After ‘Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka‘, Aadhi and Nikki Galrani have come together once again, this time for a fantasty flick. The film, which is untitled yet, will be directed by Saravanan, a debutant.

Spilling the beans on the movie, Aadhi says, “I play a local guy, who hails from Tirupur. Nikki playing a character who has a split personality of sorts. I am happy to work with her again.”

Shooting will commence in Chennai tomorrow (Thursday) and a grand set of a house has been erected for the film at a studio in the city. Dhibu, a former associate of Santhosh Narayanan, will make his debut as music composer in this flick.

It is learnt that plans are on to complete the shoot in one go and to release the film by the third quarter of 2016. Besides Chennai, the film will be shot in other locations too, including some abroad destinations.

Kajal breaks silence on kissing row

With her kissing scene with Randeep Hooda in her Hindi flick ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ creating flutter, Kajal Aggarwal has broken the silence on the issue for the first time.

“It has been unnecessarily sensationalised. I play a visually challenged girl in the movie and the scene was about she expressing her feelings for her man. I don’t understand why people are making it a big issue,” she said.

The ‘Thupakki’ actress said that though she was initially hesitant to do that scene, she did it later after she understood its relevance.

Recently, the film’s director Deepak said in a statement, “I do remember Kajal had told me that she does not do kissing scenes on screen, as she is a huge south Indian movie star, and this would impact her career in south movies. But let me tell you there was no intention to malign her or kiss her out of force; it was the emotional moment between two lovers as per the script, and I generally prefer actors doing scenes impromptu, so Randeep followed the emotional quotient of the scene, and made a go at it.”

He added: “Sure it did send Kajal in a state of some shock, and she did back off calling for a cut, but, later on, once I had explained to her the significance of the lip lock, she surrendered herself to the script, and went on to do the scene with all the passion she could put in.”
