Team ‘Iraivi’, led by director Karthik Subbaraj and producer C V Kumar, has come out with a unique initiative to promote the movie. Starting Sunday (May 22), the making of the film will be aired as a web series.

Titled ‘The Web Series of Iraivi Making’, it will have interesting incidents that happened on the sets of the film, which has Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, S J Suryah, Anjali and Kamalini Mukherjee in key roles.

The film which has music by Santhosh Narayanan was recently cleared by the Censor Board with U/A certificate. It is slated to hit the screens on June 3. Recently, the ‘Pizza’ and ‘Jigarthanda’ maker posted on his online page: “Feeling happy that #Iraivi is certified with clean UA …And the release date is..June 3.”

The movie, it is learnt, is about the importance of women in the lives of men. Buzz is that S J Suryah is doing a negative role in ‘Iraivi’.

Vijay Sethupathi on sequel mode?

Vijay Sethupathi is now busy with a bunch of projects, including ‘Rekka‘. The latest buzz about him is that he is planning a sequel to his earlier hit ‘Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara’.

According to sources, not just Vijay Sethupathi, but Swathi and Nandita too will be part of the film. “The second part will take off from where the first ended,” sources said, adding that other details are awaited soon.

‘Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ was written and directed by Gokul of ‘Rowthiram’ fame. The director is now making ‘Kashmora’ starring Karthi, Sri Divya and Nayanthara in the lead roles.

‘IAB’ was based on the daily comical things that happen in our day-to-day life. Siddharth Vipin scored music for the movie, which became popular for humour, songs and the performance of Vijay Sethupathi.

Trisha to haunt on June 10

Trisha‘s horror movie ‘Nayagi‘, which has been made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, will hit the screens on June 10. According to sources, the actress is upbeat about the film and hopes it would sure strike a chord with the audience.

Interestingly, ‘Nayagi’ is the second eerie comedy of Trisha in the recent times, after Sundar C directed ‘Aranmanai 2’. But in this flick, the ‘Mankatha’ and ‘Ghillie’ girl plays the title role.

The film directed by Govardhan Reddy and produced by Trisha’s manager Giridhar has already generated a lot of interest, it may be noted.

After the first look posters of ‘Nayagi’ were released sometime back, ace director S S Rajamouli tweeted: “Naayagi..the contrast of trisha’s
smile and the knife in her hand and combined with the getup, is just
killing it.”

Ganesh Venkatraman, Jayaprakash, Brahmanandam, Manobala and Kovai Sarala play key roles in the film. It will be released by Sri Thenandal Films.

Suriya denies demanding money from Hindu organisation

Suriya has refuted reports in few sections of the media, which claimed that he had demanded huge sum of money to attend Hindu Youth Forum meet in Malaysia.

In a statement, he said, “The report was not true. I was not approached by any such association. Moreoever, I am an artiste and I would not attend events that support a particular community. I am common to all.”

Stating that he has been doing his best for the society in his own way, the actor, who had the release of ’24’ recently, added that rumours were being spread about him. “I request everyone to co-operate in my efforts and not malign my name in anyway,” he added.

Only recently, Agaram Foundation, a social service organisation run by Suriya, cleared the air on a buzz that it has offered its support to a particular political party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

“Few messages are getting circulated in social media on Agaram Foundation’s support for a specific party for 2016 Assembly elections. We would like to make our stand clear that we are neutral and not supporting any specific party towards election. Thanks,” said a statement from Agaram.

Sai Pallavi is a doctor now

Sai Pallavi, who won the hearts of Kerala youth in ‘Premam’, has completed medical degree in Tbilisi State Medical University, Georgia. It is learnt she is yet undecided about becoming a full time doctor or continue acting in movies.

Meanwhile during her holidays, she has completed shooting for two movies. Amid the buzz that Pallavi would make her debut in Kollywood soon, an official announcement is awaited yet.

Much recently, she was tipped to be the heroine of Mani Ratnam’s next film, which will have Karthi in the lead. However, it was later said she was replaced by Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari.

Sai Pallavi was born in Kotagiri and grew up in Coimbatore. A trained dancer, she participated in the dance reality show Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva on Vijay TV in 2008, and appeared on Dhee Ultimate Dance Show (D4) on ETV Telugu.

A few years later, she was studying medicine in Tbilisi, Georgia when Alphonse Putharen offered her the role of Malar in his upcoming film ‘Premam’. After the shooting was completed, she went back to her studies.
