ilayaraja and kamal haasanMeastro Ilayaraja, who has joined hands with Kamal Haasan after a long time, has started composing songs for the film, titled ‘Sabash Naidu’.

If sources are to be believed, one song has already been recorded at Raja’s studio in Chennai and Ramya NSK and Bollywood composer Vishal Dhadlani have lent their voices for it.

“The song has come out very well and Kamal is extremely happy about it. He hugged Ilayaraja to express his excitement,” sources said, adding that the song would be canned in the United States.

Kamal, who was set to go to the US for ‘Sabash Naidu’ shoot last week itself, put on hold his trip by a week, to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on Monday (May 16). He will pack his bags off to America in a few days, sources said.

anushka imagesClose on the heels of reports that Anushka would be the heroine of Ajith’s upcoming flick, here is another update about the actress  that she would be the lead lady in Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie.

The 150th flick of Chiranjeevi is a remake of Vijay-starrer Tamil blockbuster ‘Kaththi’, and it is said Anushka would play the role made memorable by Samantha in the original version.

Earlier, Nayanthara was tipped to be the heroine of the project, titled ‘Kathilantodu’. However now, it is being claimed that Anushka would be the chosen one and an official announcement would be made soon.

A R Murugadoss, who penned the script of ‘Kaththi’, has slightly tweaked the script for the Telugu audience. V V Vinayak would wield the megaphone for ‘Kathilantodu’, which will be produced by Chiranjeevi’s son Ramcharan.

hansika photosHansika is all smiles, for she has crossed the magical mark of 20 lakh followers on microblogging site Twitter. Hugely popular on other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, she has thanked her fans for the ‘success’ on Twitter.

At present, Hansika is busy with a bunch of movies in Tamil and Telugu, including ‘Bogan’. In this flick, she is sharing the screen space with Jayam Ravi for the third time, after ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ and ‘Romeo Juliet’.

The film is being helmed by Lakshman, who made ‘Romeo Juliet’ as well. Aravind Swami is playing a key role and Hansika recently expressed happiness about working with Ravi, Aravind Swami and Lakshman.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that the actress is in talks to sign a big project. “It will be a bilingual which is to be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. She is expected to sign on the dotted line soon,” sources said.

Amy, Tamannah togetherTamannah is not the only heroine in director Vijay’s upcoming trilingual, which has Prabhu Deva in the lead role. For, Amy Jackson will be seen in an interesting and extended cameo in this flick, it is learnt.

Remember it was Vijay who launched Amy’s Kollywood career with ‘Madrasapattinam’. “Hence, they share a close rapport and when the director approached for this role, she immediately said yes,” sources said.

The career graph of Amy is on a never before high now, as she is acting alongside Superstar Rajinikanth in ‘2,.0’, a sequel to ‘Enthiran‘ which is being directed by Shankar.

Meanwhile, the Prabhu Deva-Tamannah-Vijay movie is tipped to be a horror thriller set in a bygone era and it is being bankrolled by Prabhu Deva Studios. Sonu Sood is playing a key role in this flick.

'Kabali' teaser sets another recordThe teaser of Superstar Rajinikanth’sKabali‘, which was released a couple of weeks ago on popular video sharing site YouTube, has been setting new trends and records since day one.

Now the latest update is that the the teaser has generated a whopping 17.1 million views and has officially emerged the most viewed Indian film teaser. It has surpassed all the Bollywood records including ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Sultan’.

Sources close to the unit said the film’s audio, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, will be released soon and attempts are on to release the movie on July 1.

In the teaser that runs for 1.06 minutes, the ‘thalaivar’, with a smart beard and in a sharp three-piece suit, emerges with the theme music ‘neruppu da….’ playing in the background.

He also mouths the punch dialogue: “I’m not that typical Kabali, playing villain Nambiar’s sidekick. This is the Kabali. Kabali da.” At the end, he says ‘Magizhchi..’ and appears in the vintage 80s look.

When will 'Vada Chennai' start?After taking much time for pre-production, director Vetrimaaran’s ambitious project ‘Vada Chennai’, starring Dhanush in the lead, will start rolling from June 15.

“The entire shoot will take place in Chennai and the film will be made in two parts. Samantha and Andrea Jeremiah will be integral part of the cast. Samantha will play a slum girl living in north Chennai,” sources said.

To be produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Lyca, the film will have music by Santhosh Narayanan. There is a crucial role which is almost equivalent to Dhanush and the buzz is that either Jiiva or Vijay Sethupathi will do it.

Besides ‘Vada Chennai’, Dhanush is busy with Gautham Vasudev Menon directed ‘Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta’, a Hindi flick and a Hollywood film. His ‘Thodari’ directed by Prabhu Solomon will hit the screens soon.
