But before things could materialise, fate overtook the ‘Iyakkunar Sigaram’. And now, Samuthirakani, despite his busy schedule as actor and director, has vowed to make his mentor’s dream a reality.

The ‘Nadodigal’ and ‘Nimirndhu Nil’ maker, who is busy wielding the megaphone for a film titled ‘Appa’, will start working on Balachander’s project soon. Besides directing, he is also planning to produce the film and play a key role in it.

“I don’t want to request anyone to bankroll the film. Hence, I myself will be doing it. It will be my tribute to KB sir. But everything depends on the box-office response to be generated by ‘Appa’,” he adds.

They said the film, which has time travel as its concept, has already received positive feedback from the young ones and they expect more children to come to theatres to watch the movie.

Meanwhile, thanking fans for their support to the movie, Suriya said, “Truly elated to receive all the love and affection that’s been coming our way for 24. It’s a big step for a 2 film old company like 2D Entertainment to take up such a massive production.”

“This film is a simple narrative of a fantasy subject of Time Travel- Vikram Kumar had done his homework in advance and the scenes explaining the watch and what all it does have hit the right notes with the audience. I thank my co-stars, technicians and production team who have made every scene come together for the film to work as a whole!” he said.

“As an actor, it feels immensely good when I am appreciated for not one but all the three roles I took up in this film. I genuinely thank each one of you who have loved this film- like our director Vikram Kumar keeps saying- we made a film from our hearts for you and now we are truly humbled when we are showered with all your love and applause that you are giving me and Team 24”, he added.

kajal aggarwal stillsKajal Aggarwal, who plays a blind girl in ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ , says, “I did a lot of research, read Hellen Keller’s books, watched a lot of reference films, went for workshops to XRCVC; a special branch of St Xaviers college, which helped me out quite a bit in terms of understanding life, mannerisms, daily activities and chores of the visually challenged.”

She adds: “Dr Sam and Calveena were extremely helpful and gave me tremendous insight. They taught me basic Braille, made me familiar with various equipments used by visually impaired people like special computers, audio machines, microwaves, watches, cellphones too!”

The ‘Thupakki’ and ‘Jilla’ actress further states that they also taught her the assisted walk technique, which helped her for her character.

“Calveena made me practice walking with a stick with my eyes shut so that I get a genuine feel and body language of a blind person. That was a challenge as we have a natural tendency to instinctively use our eyes for various reactions. I had to control my eye movements and that was difficult as I’m a very hyper person. Throughout the film, I looked with both my eyes on either side! It was very draining emotionally as this is an extremely intense film with a plethora of emotional upheaval,” according to Kajal.
