Kabir heaps laurels on Vijay Sethupathi

Even as the first look stills of Vijay Sethupathi‘s ‘Rekka’ are making waves, Kabir Duhan Singh, who crossed swords with Ajith in ‘Vedalam’ and is set to play the villain in ‘Rekka’, is all praise for the ‘Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum’ star.

“I came to know many positive things about Vijay Sethupathi. I heard that he is a great person to work with and he is a honest and humble human being. He is brilliant workwise too,” he says.

The film is hitting the floors today and Kabir says director Rathnasiva has offered him an interesting role. The story, according to sources, is about a man who travels to a lot of places.

Touted to be an action entertainer with ample doses of romance, the film will be produced by B Ganesh of ‘Orange Mittai’ fame. Music for ‘Rekka’ is by D Imman and cinematography is by Dinesh Krishnan.

Badava Gopi’s homework for Dhanush

He may be a television anchor in real life. But for the first time, Badava Gopi is playing a TV journalist in Dhanush-starrer ‘Thodari’, helmed by Prabhu Solomon. And he says he has done a lot of homework for the role.

“I observed many TV reporters from close quarters and studied their body language. Though the role appears to be serious, there are enough comedy moments too,” he says.

The audio of ‘Thodari’, composed by D Imman, will be unveiled soon. “Imman has once again come out with magical melodies and the songs in ‘Thodari’ will be talked about,” sources said.

Keerthi Suresh plays the heroine of the movie. While Dhanush plays a pantry worker in the train between New Delhi and Chennai, Keerthi plays the touch-up girl of a popular actress. Recently, Dhanush has completed dubbing for his portions in ‘Thodari’ in just one day.

Ritika to romance Ajith?

Ritika Singh, who won the laurels of many and also a national award for her performance in Madhavan-starrer ‘Irudhi Suttru’, will be one of the two heroines of Ajith‘s upcoming movie to be directed by Siruthai Siva.

According to sources, Siva approached Ritika recently with the offer and she was thrilled to know that she would be sharing the screen space with the top star. “She will sign on the dotted line soon,” they added.

In the meantime, Santhanam is said to be a playing a key role in the flick. “Though he has decided to play lead roles only henceforth, he relaxed the decision since he has immense respect for Ajith,” sources stated.

To be produced by Sathyajothi Films, the yet untitled flick will have music by Anirudh. Ajith, who is under rest for the past few months after knee surgery, will start shooting for it from June.

Veteran Malayalam actress Kulappulli Leela is said to be playing the grandmother of Vishal in his next release ‘Marudhu’, directed by Muthaiah of ‘Kuttipuli’ and ‘Komban’ fame.

According to sources, it is an interesting role and hence, Leela gave her nod to be part of the film. “She is happy about debuting in Kollywood with this flick,” sources added.

In Mollywood, Leela is known for her comedy roles. She has acted in almost 100 Malayalam films. ‘Marudhu’ is a rural action entertainer. Sri Divya has played the heroine.

Radha Ravi, R K Suresh and Soori will be seen in important roles. The film has a Telugu version, and it has been titled ‘Rayudu’. Both will simultaneously hit the screens, it is learnt.
