Vishal’s schedule for next one year

Vishal, happy with the feedback to his recent release ‘Marudhu’, is currently shooting for Suraaj-helmed ‘Kathi Sandai’, in which he is sharing the screen space with Tamannah, Vadivelu and Jagapathi Babu.

On completing this project, he will start shooting for Mysskin’s ‘Thupparivalan’. “The shoot of ‘Thupparivalan’ will go till October. After that, Vishal will commence the Tamil remake of Telugu hit ‘Temper’,” sources said.

And by January next year, Vishal will begin working on a movie to be directed by Bala. “It is a period film and besies Vishal, it will feature Atharva, Rana Daggubati and Arvind Swamy,” sources said.

“Bala is planning to shoot the movie for at least six months. So, Vishal’s schedule is packed for the next one year. These apart, he is also busy as the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam,” they added.

G V Prakash’s tribute to Vijay

G V Prakash Kumar shares a close rapport with Vijay. Besides doing a cameo in ‘Thalaiva’, the music director-turned-actor composed music for the film and also for the much recent ‘Theri’.

In a bid to express his love for the ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’, GVP is playing a Vijay fan in his upcoming film ‘Bruce Lee’. “It is an action thriller and Prakash, who is doing the role of a college student, will be seen as Vijay fan,” sources said.

Interestingly, Prasanth Pandiraj, the director of ‘Bruce Lee’, is also said to be a die-hard fan of Vijay. Originally titled ‘Baasha Engira Anthony’, the film’s name was later changed to Bruce Lee, after the makers failed to acquire the relevant permission to use the title from the makers of Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Baashha’.

Kriti Kharbanda makes her debut in Kollywood with ‘Bruce Lee’, produced by Kenanya Films. Besides playing the lead role, GVP also composes music for the flick. Cinemaotgraphy is by Shankar.

Rajini holidays in US with family

It’s not just Kamal Haasan who is currently in the United States, but also his good friend Rajinikanth. While the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ is in the US for the shoot of his upcoming film ‘Sabash Naidu’, the Superstar is holidaying there with his family.

“Rajini had been working without break on two projects simultaneously- ‘Kabali’ and ‘2.0’. Now that the shoot of ‘Kabali’ is over, he has left for the US with family on a vacation trip,” sources said.’

It is learnt that the Rajinikanths would stay in the United States for nearly two weeks. “On his return to India, the ‘thalaivar’ will resume shooting for ‘2.0’ directed by Shankar,” added sources.

Meanwhile, ‘Kabali’ directed by Pa Ranjith is gearing up for its audio and trailer launch. It is learnt that a grand function will be organised in Chennai soon and Rajini fans will be invited for it.

Atlee’s next with Karthi?

Though there is a buzz that Atlee and Vijay would come together for ‘Theri 2’, a sequel to their recent blockbuster ‘Theri’, it looks like the young director will join forces with Karthi for his next venture

“Before commencing ‘Theri’ second part, Atlee would direct an edge of the seat thriller featuring Karthi as protagonist. Shooting will start by the end of this year, after Karthi completes his film with Mani Ratnam,” sources said.

Karthi, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday (May 25), has started the year on a positive note with ‘Thozaha’, which generated positive feedback in both Tamil and Telugu (as ‘Oopiri’).

The actor’s next release will be ‘Kashmora’, his first eerie thriller. By June, he will begin working on his mentor Mani Ratnam’s next movie. On Wednesday, to mark his birthday, he joined Twitter and interacted with his fans.

Three new songs from Rahman

Mani Ratnam’s recent super hit ‘OK Kanmani‘ is being remade in Hindi by the ace director’s former associate Shaad Ali. Titled ‘OK Jaanu’, the film stars Adithya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

A R Rahman, who is scoring music for the Hindi version as well, has retained three songs and come out with three fresh songs. The new numbers will replace ‘Parandhu Sella Vaa…’, ‘Sinamika…’ and ‘Malargal Kaetten…’, it is learnt.

While Prakash Raj has been replaced by Naseeruddin Shah, Leela Samson is reprising her role in the Hindi version too. And Ravi K Chandran is handling the cinematography, replacing P C Sreeram.

The original had Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, portraying a young couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai. Prakash Raj and Leela Samson played supporting roles as an older couple in the film, portraying the younger couple’s landlords.
