Vishnu Vishal-starrer ‘Mundasupatti‘ is all set to be remade in Telugu. Sudheer Babu, whose Hindi film ‘Baaghi’ is holding well at the box office, will be the protagonist of the movie.

“Sudheer Babu watched ‘Mundasupatti’ recently and was thoroughly impressed by it. He will commence shooting for the film by July. Details of remaining members of the cast and crew would be revealed soon,” sources said.

Directed by Ram, ‘Mundasupatti’ is a comedy flick starring Vishnu and Nandita in the lead. Produced by Thirukumaran Entertainments’ C V Kumar in association with Fox Star Studios, it featured music by Sean Roldan, editing by Leo John Paul and camerawork by P V Sankar.

Based on a short film Ram himself shot in 2011 for the TV show, Naalaya Iyakunar, the film is set in the 80s in a fictional village called Mundasupatti, where people believe bad luck will befall them if they are photographed. The story illustrates what happens when two photographers visit the village.

Trisha, who celebrated her birthday recently, has signed on the dotted line for a new flick. To be directed by Madesh of ‘Madurey’ fame, it is going to be a horror movie set in the backdrop of London.

“Shooting for the yet-to-be-titled film will start by the end of May and more than 50 per cent of the shoot will be held in the UK. She has bagged an interesting role,” sources said.

Interestingly, Trisha is already part of a bilingual horror venture titled ‘Nayagi‘. On her birthday on Wednesday, the actress, who was shooting near Madurai, took a break from work and returned to Chennai, to be with her family and friends on her special day.

After attending a party organised by her pals, she spent the day with her family members, sources said, adding that she would go back to work in a day or two.

Trisha is currently busy with projects such as ‘Nayaki’, ‘RUM’, ‘Kodi’ (with Dhanush) and ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal’ (with Vijay Sethupathi).

Sivakarthikeyan is on the verge of completing his much awaited ‘Remo’, in which he will be sporting multiple looks designed by Hollywood artiste Sean Foot of ‘I’ fame.

“The last schedule of the shoot is going on now, and if everything goes well, it will get over by the middle of June. After that, the post production works will go on for a month and the film will hit the screens by August or September,” sources said.

Directed by debutant Bhagyaraj Kannan, the film has cinematography by P C Sreeram and music by Anirudh. Director K S Ravikumar has played an interesting and important cameo, it is learnt.

Upon completing this flick, Siva will start working on a movie to be directed by Mohan Raja, who is fresh from the success of ‘Thani Oruvan’. In this movie, the actor will be seen as a crusader.

After carving a niche for himself in Kollywood, it is now time for music composer D Imman to spread wings in other film industries.

To start with, he will make his debut in Kannada cinema with ‘Kottigobba 2‘. The film, directed by K S Ravikumar with Sudeep and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, is being made simultaneously in Tamil as ‘Mudinja Ivanai Pudi’.

Confirming the news, Imman posted on his online page: “Poster of my debut #Kannada film #Kottigobba2 with #Sudeep n #Nithyamenen in the lead! Dir:-KSRavikumar Praise God !”

Recently, there were rumours that Sudeep and Nithya Menen had fallen in love with each other on the sets of the movie. Reacting to it, Ravikumar said, “it is common for co-artistes to be friendly with each other. Like that, Sudeep and Nithya too are friendly on the sets.”

He added: “If they are in love, only they can speak about it. How can I speak for them. All that I can say is the chemistry between Nithya and Sudeep in ‘Mudinja Ivanai Pudi‘ is good.”

The wait is set to get over for Ajith fans, as the ‘thala’ is gearing up to start shooting for his 57th film. Like ‘Veeram’ and ‘Vedhalam’, this one too will be helmed by ‘Siruthai’ Siva.

“Today is Thursday and Ajith, an ardent devotee of Sai Baba, considers it auspicious. He has signed on the dotted line today and the shoot will commence next month or July,” sources said.

To be produced by Sathyajothi Films, the yet untitled movie will have music by Anirudh. “Ajith liked Anirudh’s work in ‘Vedhalam’. So was Siva. Hence, both wanted to have the young composer on board,” sources added.

It is further learnt that like ‘Veeram’ and ‘Vedhalam’, the title of this film too will start with ‘V’ and end with ‘M’. “Siva has come out with an out and out commercial subject which is going to be a complete treat for his fans,” they stated.

After Vidyulekha Raman, who lost her passport, cards and currency in Vienna, gave a ‘SOS call’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj via Twitter, the Indian Embassy there has rushed to her help.

To put it in her own words: “A big thanks 2 everyone who gave me info and helped me out. The Indian Embassy in Vienna has issued a temporary travel permit 2 travel today.”

The ‘Veeram‘ actress said further: “@SushmaSwaraj @PMOIndia the Indian Embassy in Vienna was extremely friendly, understanding and helped me immediately. I am safe. Thank you.”
“What happened 2 me was extremely unfortunate.Just grateful that my life was not at stake.Tourists are always targeted. Safe travels everyone,” she said, adding: “Pickpockets and theft is rising rampantly in Europe. Always be cautious of your surroundings. Con artists everywhere.”
