This isn’t based on heroes’ characterisations, but we bring you the factual rating based on the performance of best actors with their roles and significances in 2015.

Kamal Haasan

1. Kamal Haasan:

The greatest universal hero surprised us by offering three releases in the same year. All of them had something in commonality, where he played an emotional father and the bonding was beyond great feelings. Uttama Villain, Papanasam and Thoonga Vanam were based on different genres, but father-children relationship was the core.

Aravind Swamy

2. Aravind Swamy:

His comeback in Kadal would not have earned him reputation, but this one was magically awesome. His antagonistic appeal in ‘Thani Oruvan’ has made everyone turn to his fandom league irresistibly.

Ajith Kumar

3. Ajith Kumar:

When an actor is on the peak of his career, they would hardly go for some variations. While Yennai Arindhaal was completely catered for multiplex audiences, he flexed his muscles tremendously for a mass entertainer in ‘Vedalam’.

Jayam Ravi

4. Jayam Ravi:

Can you imagine, this actor didn’t have a proper phase till last year and by the second half of 2015, he became a game changer with four consecutive releases including Romeo Juliet, Appatakkar, Thani Oruvan and Bhooloham.

Arun-Vijay

5. Arun Vijay:

He was desperately waiting for a break and it all came with ‘Yennai Arindhaal’, where he fetched incredible praises from even Ajith Kumar fans in spite of confronting him on the screens.

The actress showcased a contrastive distinctive role in both the films – O Kadhal Kanmani and Kanchana2, which were released on the same date. Such a variation in her roles left us awestruck and she is incredibly awesome.

Anushka Shetty

2. Anushka Shetty:

3 awe inspiring movie and unbelievable changeovers. A pathetic desolated queen with vengeance in Baahubali, A reigning queen in Rudramadevi and an overweight obese girl in Inji Iduppazhagi. Anushka Shetty is definitely the most fabulous belle of this season.

Nayanthara

3. Nayanthara:

She has now turned to be one of the most promising actresses of Indian film industry, where here solo protagonist role in ‘Maya’ has become a Gate-opener. She continued to streak success with couple of commercial films, which portrayed her in a spellbinding role in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Thani Oruvan.

Trisha

4.  Trisha:

The actress playing the mother a baby in Yennai Arindhaal is something more intriguing and her complete changeover with a local role in Bhooloham.

Amy Jackson

Terms like dedication and hard work definitely will match only two names in Kollytown, Kamal Hassan and our Chiyaan. While the former has crossed over 55 years with success over alomst all generes the latter started off on a slow note picking up pace with his speed agility and style to become one of the most soughted heroes in Kollywood.

The high riding 1990 when Dr.Kamal Hassan won the prestigious Padma Shri Award marked the birth of another star who would do anything just for his passion in cinema. With a subtle start after modelling in advert films and serials Director. C.V. Sridhar found the hero in him signing him for the lead in En Kadhal Kanmani on this day in 1990 which failed to showcase the stardom in him.

Striding through struggling phases over the years till 1997 when he signed for Sethu, the town found the passion of the chap who was struggling his way through the multitude to mark a place in history. The 21 kilo loss for the film gave him 21 fold success, Awards for sethu: Filmfare Special Award-South and tamiNadu state film award.

His launch as chiyaan was follwed by several successses including Dhill, Kasi (Filmfare Best Tamil Actor award), Gemini, Samurai, Dhool etc.

Every artist finds a new start from a cop story and it was Saamy for Chiyaan who was signed under the banner of K.Balachander's production, directed by Hari. His performance in it was lapped up by critics earning his the nomination for Filmfare Best Actor Award.

"Hard work never fails" . It was a hard road for vikram and success is definitely sure when that hard path was covered. This was showcased by his masterpieces Pithamagan ( Filmfare Best Tamil Actor Award and the National Film Award for Best Actor) , Anniyan ( Best Actor at Filmfare Awards South) and Kanthaswamy with which he succumbed to the superstar image trap

With enough proof on his acting skills the MACHINE MAN of KOLLYWOOD tested himself through ups and lows with his movies Raavanan ( Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actor), Deiva Thirumagal (Vijay Awards and Filmfare Awards), Thandavam etc.

The Machine man further toppled critics with his "I" move with Director Shankar, losing 56 kilos for the movie (The most by any actor).

The era is lined up now with Vijay Milton's 10 Endrathukulla, a road-thriller.

We at Cinecoffee wish him all success in his future endeavous.

Two influential teams are fighting it out in the polls, While one is led by sitting president R Sarathkumar and Secretary Radha Ravi, the other is led by Vishal and Nasser.

As soon as the election date was announced, campaigning has shifted to a hectic pace. Key members of both the teams are travelling across Tamil Nadu, meeting cine and drama actors.

Even on Saturday, Sarath, Radharavi, Radhika and among others were in Pudukottai, seeking the support of drama actors. Speaking on the occasion, Sarath said, "they are levelling baseless corruption charges against us. We have filed a defamation case against Vishal and others."

Vishal, who too has been meeting actors, says, "Vote for a positive and constructive change. We will work hard for the welfare of actors." He has also said he would marry only after an auditorium is built in Nadigar Sangam premises.

Various issues, including pension for ailing actors and a building for Nadigar Sangam, play a crucial role in the polls. Recently, both Vishal and Sarath met Superstar Rajinikanth and discussed the elections, it may be recalled.

"We have the support of actors and our team will emerge triumphant. I hail from a traditional family and I am not afraid of trivial things," Sarath says.

On his part, Vishal says, "this is a fight for rights and justice. Truth will always win and we have the support of actors and actresses. We will sure emerge winners."

Amid these tall claims, polling will be held under the supervision of a Judge between 7 am and 5 pm at St Ebba's School, Mylapore. All fingers are crossed till then.
